A bad fix for hubble?: Robotic repair may be riskier than first thought

Article Abstract:

The International Space Station decided to repair and replace the failing batteries, gyroscopes and fine-guidance sensors and install a wide-field camera and a spectrograph in the Hubble Space Telescope after its crash in Columbia 2003. It is suggested that this servicing mission involves a level of complexity, sophistication, and technology maturity that requires significant development, integration, and demonstration to reach flight readiness.

Diesels come clean

Article Abstract:

Modern diesel automotive power plants are putting out less pollution, than their predecessors and are getting good gas mileage as well because of cleaner fuel grades and new exhaust after-treatment systems. Ultralow-sulfur fuel is one of the main features for the prospects of clean diesel technology and tailpipe system that scrub much of the soot and nitrogen oxide emissions from diesel exhaust are being adapted in new models.
