Heterogeneous reaction of NO(sub 2) on diesel soot particles

Article Abstract:

The following study undertakes the examination of the reactions of nitrogen dioxide (No (sub 2)) and diesel soot particles. Soot particles from a diesel engine were gathered and exposed to NO(sub 2) concentrations and relative humidity in ranges found in the troposphere. Nitrogen oxides control levels of ozone in a majority of areas in the troposphere.
