A real bullet train

Researchers at the Sandia National Laboratories are evaluating the feasibility of using coil-gun technology to design bullet trains capable of traveling at 200 mph. They believe that the technology, which was developed for military purposes, can provide cheaper and reliable bullet trains.

"Negative viscosity" in a magnetic fluid

Research indicates that magnetic fluids demonstrate a negative viscosity component under some conditions. An overview of the studies of this asymmetrical stress phenomenon in magnetic fluids is presented.
