A new hydrate-based recovery process for removing chlorinated hydrocarbons from aqueous solutions

Article Abstract:

Chlorinated hydrocarbons in an aqueous solution are run through a remediation process involving the help gases carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and methane. Graphs show the equilibria points for different system temperatures and pressures for the volatile organic compounds, and the kinetics of chlorinated hydrocarbon recovery.

Alkyl bromides as mechanis probes of reductive dehalogenation: reactions of vicinal dibromide stereoisomers with zerovalent metals

Article Abstract:

The following study examines vicinal dibromide stereoisomers as "probes" of the concertedness in reduction by aqueous suspensions of zinc metal and iron of electron transfer. Through abiotic reductive dehalogenations, zerovalent metals offer a possible way to treat organohalide contaminants.
