Art: Evolution or Revolution?

Article Abstract:

Archeological research indicates that a global migration of protoartists began 50,000 years ago in Africa and culminated in an explosion of art in Europe 40,000 year ago. There is evidence of earlier artistic activities, but archaeologists disagree on whether artistic ability evolved over time or developed more suddenly.

New foot steps into walking debate

Article Abstract:

Four foot bones from a 3 to 3.5-million-year-old South African hominid have fueled the debate over the emergence of bipedalism in man's ancestors. Discoverers Ronald Clarke and Phillip Tobias believe its weight-bearing heel and a long, flexible big toe indicate it was both bipedal and arboreal.
