Assume the ostrich position: how companies ignore information

Article Abstract:

A study has been conducted to investigate why companies choose to ignore information. Knowledge of the relevant environment for any company has been found to be inextricably linked to the dominant culture of the boardroom and that any new information has to filter through the various components of the prevailing corporate culture before it is valued as knowledge by senior managers. Knowledge has been found to compel companies to amend and adapt their strategies. Organizational culture must be included in the learning cycle to develop a method in objectively and intelligently discerning what information is urgent or not.
