Bike to the future

Article Abstract:

David Schultz and Robert Egger, designers for Specialized Bicycle Components Inc, have designed and had built three innovative prototype bicycles: the Metropolitan city bike, the Tandemonium tandem track racer bike and the Future Shock Experimental mountain bike. Design details are discussed.

Batteries come clean

Article Abstract:

Over two billion household batteries are thrown away each year, and these discarded batteries are responsible for half the mercury in landfills. However, new state and federal mercury level regulations are bringing about recycling efforts and the development of mercury-free batteries.
