Building materials: a stucco issue

Article Abstract:

The exterior insulation and finish systems consists of synthetic stucco placed over a foam insulation board and glued to the home's sheathing. It has no built-in drainage. Any water or moisture which gets between the foam and sheathing is trapped and causes rot and water damage.

Spider webs and silks

Article Abstract:

The design of spider webs is based on the principles of structural engineering. Spiders' silk is strong and variable, leading to a wide range of web deigns. Spiders overcome the constraints posed by the stiffness of their silk.
