China to triple Internet hooks with commercial hookups

China's Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPT) plans to add two new direct Internet links to the one already managed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences. MPT will operate the lines for profit, which may make them unaffordable for most Chinese research scientists.
