Chlorine kinetic isotope effects on enzymatic dehalogenations

Article Abstract:

Research examines the mechanisms involved in the hydrolytic dehalogenation measuring chlorine kinetic isotope effects in such reactions. Results from the four hydrolytic dehalogenases show chlorine kinetic isotope effects in the range of 10045 to 10105, suggesting that the mechanisms by which these enzymes catalyze dehalogenation are vastly different.

Enzymatic transition state poise and transition state analogues

Article Abstract:

Mechanism of Kinetic Isotope Effect (KIE) method, for systematic determination of enzymatic transition state structure is depicted. Terminology of Jencks, is utilized to summarize enzymatic transition state poise, in a single diagram of bond orders.
