Cold-proof showers

Nibco has developed the Just Right flow controller which provides a constant supply of hot water. The device works by ensuring that cold water continuously enters the water heater. The controller is expected to save homeowners about 7,000 to 14,000 gallons of water annually.

Extremely cold antiprotons

Article Abstract:

The advances made since 1986 in the ability to cool and store antiprotons has permitted experiments that could further the understanding of matter and antimatter. Antiprotons can be cooled and slowed to energies that are one ten-billionth of what was possible in 1986.

Cold comfort

Arctic animals have adapted various methods to withstand the cold weather. Some animals are naturally endowed with a protective fur coat while others improvise physiologically or make use of their surroundings to ward off the freezing temperature.
