Comparative environmental assessments of VOC recovery and recycle design alternatives for a gaseous waste stream

Article Abstract:

In this study, the comparative environmental assessments of VOC recovery and recycle design alternatives for a gaseous water system include nine environmental and human health indices. The article is broken down into an introduction, a discussion of the experiments and its results. Various charts and tables accompany the article.

Sunlight and Iron(III)-induced photochemical production of dissolved gaseous mercury in freshwater

Article Abstract:

Scientists continue to search for the sources of Hg in watersheds and remote lakes of North America. Authors hypothesize that Dissolved Gaseous Mercury (DGM) could be caused by sunlight and Fe(III)-induced photochemical processes. The findings are illustrated with figures and tables.

The relationship between the interfacial properties of surfactants and their toxicity to aquatic organisms

Article Abstract:

Authors studied the relationship between surfactant interfacial properties and their impact on water organisms, including the toxicity of the cationic surfactant class in algae and bioconcentrations of linear alkylbenzene sulfonate (LAS) isomers in fish. Algae toxicity and bioconcentrations of LAS is related to cross-sectional area and surface adsorption.
