Comparative study on potential business opportunities: China, USSR, Eastern Europe

Article Abstract:

Business opportunities in Eastern Europe are more attractive than in China and USSR. Eastern Europe's political stability, wide economic and political support from Western countries, and well-educated and qualified people strongly contribute to the region's investment attractiveness. The region also offers vast potential investment opportunities in trade, property, and technology. On the other hand, China and Russia are unable to attract several small- and medium-sized businesses due to political risks and instability.

Consequences of economic transition on manufacturing strategies: the case of Hungary

Eastern European countries are undergoing rapid political and economic changes. In the wake of political reforms, these countries are now making the transition to market economics, with some going through difficult times as they make the transition. A study on the effect of these changes on manufacturing strategies in Hungary is presented.

Why Central and Eastern Europe need a changed modernization and development strategy: the Hungarian experience

Central and Eastern European countries cannot become modern and developed market economies by relying on market forces such as foreign companies and foreign aid programs, alone. A modernization and development strategy should be created to speed up the transition to market economics and avoid social unrest.
