Comparison between mammalian and artificial olfaction based on arrays of carbon black-polymer composite vapor detectors

Article Abstract:

Bioinspired olfactory systems that can provide useful test beds for investigating the collective behavior of arrays of broadly cross-reactive sensors and elucidate the basis for some of the phenomena displayed by mammalian olfactory systems are presented. Collection of such sensors can provide excellent discrimination performance, along with good sensitivity, short response times, and reversible behavior, for a variety of organic vapors.

Transient species in the stepwise interconversion of NADH and NAD(super +1)

Article Abstract:

Two mechanisms of the interconversion of NADH and NAD(super +1) in the coenzyme itself and in its analogues are discussed. Direct characterization of the transient species in the stepwise process and inversion of the stability order of the keno and enol tautomers is presented.

Enantioselective cross-coupling of anhydrides with organozinc reagents: the controlled formation of carbon-carbon bonds through the nucleophilic interception of metalacycles

Article Abstract:

The process of controlled construction of the carbon-carbon bonds via the nucleophilic interception of the metalacycles is discussed. The analysis proves that the desired bonds can also be formed by the enantioselective cross-coupling of anhydrides with organozinc reagents.
