Article Abstract:

Nintendo's Game Boy portable video game system, priced at 70 pounds sterling, is favored by under-14s and plays a number of different games. It is easy to transport, and its black and white screen makes it cheaper to run than either the Sega Game Gear or Atari Lynx. Sega's Game Gear, priced at 100 pounds sterling, is a favorite with the over-14s, although its colour screen makes it expensive to run. Atari's Lynx is priced at 80 pounds sterling and was the worst of the three games systems tested, although the Lynx 2, priced at 85 pounds sterling, is an improvement over the original Lynx. Test results for the video games systems and five games to play on each are presented.

Compressed air stores electricity

Article Abstract:

Electric utility companies can store compressed air in underground caverns during off-peak hours and then withdraw it for use during peak hours. So far there are only two companies using this technique, one in Alabama and one in Germany, but others are planning to make use of the technology.
