Concentrations and sources of VOCs in urban domestic and public microenvironments

Article Abstract:

Studies of 15 volatile organic compounds were measured during various times of the day via indoor and outdoor sampling, including six smoking homes. Outdoor locations that are high traffic areas were more concentrated than inside automobiles, and was nearly the same as in train stations and pubs. The home indoor and outdoor samples revealed higher indoor concentrations, and environmental tobacco smoke caused significant concentrations in the smoking homes.
