Cost and safety factors drive advance basic changes in foundations

Article Abstract:

The focus of the construction industry currently is on using less material and labor and on moving towards testing, analysis and verification of foundation technologies. Addressing this issue, Ohio based Pile Dynamics, Inc., has come up with a wide variety of testing and measuring instruments, such as micropiles.

Changes proposed to New York City building code in response to September 11 terrorist attack

Article Abstract:

New York City's mayor has proposed a law that would change the city's building code in response to September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. The proposed changes contain many addition requirements regarding to stairs and elevators and also the exits from the floor of a building.
