Article Abstract:

Four Square has introduced an updated version of the FLAVIA brewer system, called FLAVIA S300. The system was designed by a small multifunctional core design team composed of a brand manager, an equipment development manager, 14 engineers and an industrial designer. The team focused on improving the consumer interface design with simple and concise step by step instructions on how to operate the machine. The FLAVIA S300 has recorded a significant market advantage over other brands and has won design awards in the United Kingdom and Japan.

The dynamics of production and factory control are increasingly demanding faster and more accurate data management systems. Such systems are required to support increased levels of shopfloor decision-making and limited management time. Several software and hardware systems are being developed to address such a fragmented manufacturing structure. These systems are generally known as manufacturing execution systems.
