The Canadian government has provided inadequate legal protection to the Tuktut Nogait National Park which is necessary to halt massive mining operations in the area. Despite the passage of National Parks Act, companies have adopted ways to improve mineral exploration.

Decision time on the Tashenshini

The government of British Columbia is being called to decide on the fate of the wilderness of Tatshenshini in the province's northwestern territory. Possible uses for the region are as a mining area or a national park.
