Earth before Pangea: the North American continent may be more nomadic than any of its inhabitants

Article Abstract:

Research on the geological history of mountains in the East Antarctic suggests that the North American continental land mass may once have been attached to Antarctica. Speculation concerning the movement of proto-continents during the Precambrian and Cambrian periods is presented.

An examination of the causes of the enigmatic dips and swells that have occurred over the earth's surface is presented. Vertical motions life and lower entire continents, as it has lifted Southern Africa 1,000 feet over the last 20 million years.

Weight watching: satellite maps reveal the variations in Earth's gravity

Article Abstract:

A pair of satellites is launched, which have yielded a detailed map of planet's gravitational field. These satellites make up the Gravity Recovery and Climate Experience (GRACE), which is a joint effort of NASA and the German Aerospace center.
