Effect of payload on exhaust emissions from light heavy-duty diesel and gasoline trucks

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to see the effects of increasing payloads on emissions from light heavy-duty pickup trucks. The vehicles were tested over a combination of three test weights and different driving cycles. Trends for diesel vehicles are listed, as are trends for the diesel THC and CO emissions and for gasoline vehicles.

A systems evaluation on the effectiveness of a catalyst retrofit program in China

Article Abstract:

The emissions from a 1976 Ford Pinto, a 1996 Santana LX, and a 1996 Chang An are measured with three kinds of fuel, before and after premaintenance and retrofitting with a rare-earth oxide catalyst. Twenty-one vehicles at a service station in Yu Qi, China are tested before and after catalyst retrofitting to determine emission reduction.
