Resourceful recruiting

Article Abstract:

The choice candidates for job openings may not necessarily be among those applying. Tried and tested marketing methods may be used in attracting potential employees and this include contacting people at their places of business, advertising on sales receipts, utilizing inter-company networks to absorb laid off workers, installing signs at accessible locations and registering with executive search databases.

Engaging the private sector

Article Abstract:

The globalization of western human rights standards and the proliferation of international nongovernment organizations (NGOs) have forced multinational corporations to be more responsible for the human rights conditions existing in their factories worldwide. For instance, it was only when private firms cooperated with NGOs that child labor in the production of soccer balls in Pakistan was eliminated. Moreover, a growing number of activists, businessmen and policymakers are starting to realize that business interests are not always in conflict with human rights.
