Environmental engineering: Retention reservoir caps remediation efforts at California mine

Article Abstract:

Slickrock Creek Retention Reservoir, California, will enable the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to reduce the amount of pollution caused due to the toxic acid mine drainage given out by the Iron Mountain Mine. Due to the mining operations, sulfuric acid seeped into the Slickrock creek and this flowed into the Spring Creek, which is used as a drinking water source by inhabitants.
