Evaluation of two support programs promoting international technology transfer between SMEs

Article Abstract:

Two support programs for promoting international technology transfer between European industries were evaluated based on their effectiveness. The results show that both programs failed to promote high-level and profitable technology transfer between European SMEs. This can be attributed to the heterogeneous nature of the transfer channels and the lack of economic and technological foresight among the officials of European governments and industries.

Letter from the Gama World

Article Abstract:

The international dimensions of intellectual property rights (IPR) protection is discussed. The analysis, which was conducted within the framework of Huxley's Gama caste system, supports the argument that a global patent system is required to protect countries engaged in high technologies. Such a system would resolve existing problems related to technology transfer and provide a highly efficient legal structure for IPR protection.

Cultural adjustment in international technology transfer

Article Abstract:

Company officials responsible for the formulation of international technology transfer policies should have a substantial knowledge of the social and cultural differences between their companies' home country and the country that will receive the technology. By understanding these differences, decision makers can incorporate changes in their protocols that will ensure successful technology transfer.
