Examining the alternatives

Article Abstract:

Field research indicates that the alternative earthen final cover with adequate storage capacity is effective in containing percolation of moisture to landfills to low levels at a rate of less than 1.5 millimeter per year in arid and semiarid areas. However, in humid and subhumid condtions moisture percolation rates are higher than expected.
