Fighters without pilots: nobody dies--except the enemy; remotely controlled combat planes are now being designed that fly better than any pilot

Article Abstract:

Uninhabited combat air vehicles (UCAV) are being designed to eliminate pilot deaths in air battles. The unmanned fighter planes will be smaller, cheaper, autonomous, and capable of evading enemy detection and attack. Concerns have been voiced regarding the acceptability of this innovation to pilots.
