Getting around the nucleosomes

Article Abstract:

A study of RNA polymerase III reveals the mechanism by which transcription takes place through nucleosomes. The proposed mechanism was observed in vitro and the most significant question still to be answered is whether histones are completely or only partially released.

Paths to activation of transcription

Article Abstract:

Research on bacteria is providing scientists with clues as to how genes are often regulation at the beginning stage of transcription. Several experiments in the field include a study of transcription activator nitrogen regulatory protein.

RNA polymerase marching backward

Article Abstract:

Study of the elongation and retraction processes of RNA polymerase has generated new questions about the regulation of genes through chain elongation and about transcriptional fidelity.
