Golden Gate update

Article Abstract:

This article discusses the seismic retrofit work aimed at ensuring the structural integrity of the Golden Gate Bridge subsequent to an earthquake. The retrofitting includes reinforcing the support towers and concrete foundations and installation of the seismic isolation bearing at the north approach of the Bridge.

Geologists find evidence of faults that crisscross upstate New York

Article Abstract:

This article examines the seismic proneness of upstate New York using field and satellite methods. Findings reveal that the faults can be traced to the Appalachian plateau.
