Harris County moves forward on project Brays

Article Abstract:

Construction began in May 2004 on the Willow Waterhole detention pond, the last of four regional detention ponds in Texas being built by the Harris County Flood Control District as part of Project Brays. It is a large-scale effort to control flooding along Brays Bayou in and around Houston, US.

Software will help determine appropriate storm-water practice

Researchers at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University are developing a software that makes identifying the best management practice for storm-water runoff contro l easier. The software will benefits regulators and developers especially in the permit application process.
