Article Abstract:

Engineer Robert Lawson, who used to work with Denso Corporation in Japan, a tier supplier to Toyota, returned to Macclesfield-based company Gradus. He was part of the scheme aimed at sending UK managers abroad to experience world class levels of best practice and technology and then, apply them in their own companies. One Japanese best practice he observed was the degree of planning which is 80% and the 20% is for application.
