Improved grouts found to extend bridge life

Article Abstract:

This article examines advantages of new grout mixtures in protecting the bridges from corrosion problems and extend their lives in coastal areas and deicing salts. The grouts consist of a vertical and horizontal application types with 0.33 and 0.35 water:cement ratios respectively.

This article reports on the restoration of the Rio Grande Roma-Ciudad Miguel Aleman International Suspension Bridge. The project is of international dimension and requires resources and cooperation between the United States and Mexico.
