Inventory and emission factors of creosote, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) and phenols from railroad ties treated with creosote

Article Abstract:

The cross sections of various railroad ties on the Swiss railway network were studied and a variety of emission factors and total yearly emissions of creosote, PAH, and phenols were determined. The article is broken up into an introduction, a description of the experiment, and results and discussion.

Fluorescence imaging of tracer distributions in soil samples

Article Abstract:

A technique for the simultaneous imaging of several fluorescent traces in structure field soils is developed. This technique is a powerful tool for in-situ investigation of transport processes of fluorescent solute tracers in soil profiles.
