Artistic brilliance and a dazzling memory are sometimes accompanied by autism and other development disorders. Examples about well-known people who are extremely good at some kind of activity but are developmentally disabled are presented.

The early origins of autism

Article Abstract:

Research on autism indicates that it is linked to variants of several genes and that it also has an environmental component. Studies of thalidomide-induced autism and of the brain regions involved in autism are discussed.
