Article Abstract:

This article describes the Transportation Expansion Project, or T-REX, undertaken by the Denver city government. The project envisages reconstructing of the I25/I-225 interchange transportation corridor, which is aging and congested. The $1.67-billion project combines highway improvements with the construction of a light-rail line in a single design/build structure.

Seattle light-rail construction begins

Article Abstract:

The Sound Transit, the mass transit agency, has begun its light-rail construction on a longer, north-south system in Seattle that links communities all the way from the city's northern suburbs to Sea-Tac International Airport. The partially underground line includes one of the deepest stations ever to be excavated in soil in North America.

Rapid expansion
