Issues related to an audio-visual exhibition of recorded Cuban natural sounds are examined, focusing on the meaning of sound in natural landscapes and on the work of 19th-century natural scientist Alexander von Humboldt, who recorded his experiences of Cuban environmental sounds in his journals.
