Lessons from Hale-Bopp

Article Abstract:

Comets such as the Hale-Bopp comet (C/1995 01) may have the answer to questions about how life began. Carboxylic acid found in this comet combines with amines to form amino acids. Hale-Bopp had a third tail formed by sodium atoms. Alan Hale and Thomas Bopp discovered the comet on Jul 23, 1995.
