Leveling the playing field: Economic development helps women pull even with men

Article Abstract:

The U.S. political scientists analyzed data from World Values Survey, an ongoing study of attitudes towards questions related to women and attitudes towards gender equality in 61 countries were measured. The result showed that attitudes toward gender equality in various fields such as participation in representative government, share of management and professional jobs and many others became increasingly more liberal as societies progress from one economic stage to the next.

Article Abstract:

The restrictions due to the extent of professional licensing found in the U.S. are discussed. Medicine, dentistry, law, engineering, accounting, barbering and cosmetology are some of the professions that are registered in all 50 states and the licensing has not inhibited the job entry to these professions.
