Technopolitan strategies: at the edge of an innovation-driven territorial approach

Article Abstract:

A growing number of European regions are integrating scientific, technological and productive infrastructure to create technopolitan systems that could foster technological transfer and innovation. These systems rely on industry-university ties and technological entrepreneurship to fulfill their technopolitan goals, which include enhanced production flexibility and the creation of innovative start-up companies.

Innovation, a winning solution?

Article Abstract:

Innovation is attracting major interests because it provides solutions to the needs of society. Joseph Schumpeter, who is credited for the creation of the term, named innovation as one the three key stages in the course of progress. The other two stages are diffusion and invention. Schumpeter defined innovation as a new application of a previous invention that was commercially successful.
