The role of knowledge and information in innovation: the case of genetic engineering

Article Abstract:

The role played by knowledge and information in the perception and acceptance of innovations when innovation is associated with risks, is empirically studied based on genetic engineering. Studies show that consumers have little knowledge about the technology, are sceptical regarding genetic engineering experts, and are not likely to buy the respective products.

Achieving complementarities of size advantages in new product development: the case of multimedia in Japan

Article Abstract:

Both large and small firms play major roles in the new product development process. However, the process is hindered by problems that arise when large and small firms work together. In Japan, institutions and government policies help strengthen collaboration between large and small firms engaged in the development of multimedia technology.

Assessing innovativeness through organizational adaptability: a contingency approach

Article Abstract:

A study examines how competence based adaptability affects the level of innovativeness, and how internal an external strategic postures influence this interplay. The findings provide a strong empirical evidence for a positive association between adaptability and innovativeness.
