The role of technology in the future of television: some implications for HDTV broadcasting systems

Article Abstract:

Surveys indicate that television viewers would prefer to have more program selection before improved resolution on their monitors. The new high-definition television technology will have to play other roles in broadcasting besides picture-improvement, such as providing more channels in a smaller portion of the radio spectrum. A description of a future system that provides these changes is included.

Article Abstract:

Knowledge management is the most important organizational resource for a firm for sustainable competitive advantage and long-term success. A study is presented to understand the relationship between team activities in technology development and the performance of technology internalization by investigating 14 technology development projects of Samsung.

Broadcasting technology in an advanced information society

Article Abstract:

The future of broadcasting technology should see the development of high-definition television, and its subsequent emergence as a broadcast standard. Also, EDTV and quasi-constant luminance signal processing will be developed by Japan. Many broadcasters will seek to use satellite frequencies instead of laying more cable.
