Long-term technological trends and their implications for management

Article Abstract:

Future economic planning activities, both by governments and business enterprises, should consider the implications of the advances in information technology, biotechnology, materials management and energy development, since advances in these areas are bound to dictate future economic trends. Governments are advised to take a more lenient approach to developments but take an active role in monitoring so as to allow these enterprises to develop to fruition, while at the same time imposing order on the spillover of these enterprises to society.
