Article Abstract:

News related to advanced materials engineering with applications in space transportation, automotive parts, powder metallurgy component manufacturing and ships is given. Carbon fiber composite technology is used to build two ships for the Swedish Navy. Test programs on ceramic composite materials, refractory alloys and advanced aluminium alloys for applications in designing space transportation are discussed.
