Offering success

Article Abstract:

Rotherham Metropolitan Borough of Southern Yorkshire, England was hit hard by the modern industrial revolution which caused almost 50,000 of its people to lose their jobs during a 25-year period beginning in 1970. However, Rotherham has regenerated its economy with strong determination and 49,000 of the lost jobs have been replaced. The strength of the borough's recovery is due in part to the successful efforts of Rotherham Industrial Development Office which has boldly proclaimed throughout the world that Rotherham has the land, premises, finances and commitment to held industries succeed.

UK needs funding push for medical engineering success

Article Abstract:

The downtrend in the sale of UK's medical engineering equipment can be attributed to the poor government investment in the National Health Service which is considered the main customer for medical devices. Furthermore, the inadequate federal financial assistance on medical engineering hinders the development of innovative techniques suitable for medical equipment applications which, in turn, contributes to the decline. Such a trend may adversely affect the objective of the UK's medical equipment industry to become a major player in the global medical equipment market.
