Out of the smoke

Article Abstract:

EEV, a subsidiary of GEC and an authority in thermal imaging, has fabricated an innovative camcorder-style Argus camera that provides real time vision in thick smoke and complete darkness. The designing of the camera has taken eight months and the whole company has been reorganized. The company faced a puzzling situation with regards to its perspective marketing strategy in 1993 after its thermal imaging product failed to make a significant impact on the market largely because of its high price. Argus meets all company specifications and is cost effective.

Indefinite articles

Article Abstract:

Precise definition of certain words in Article 2 of the European Community product safety directive is needed. 'Product' covers a wide range of consumer products, such as food, DIY products and family cars; and a narrow range of industrial products, not including products, such as cinema projectors. 'Consumers' implies non-industrial and non-business consumers. There is doubt as to whether 'supplied' covers more areas other than the physical, passing of goods to consumers, such as domestic product rental.
