Article Abstract:

Proteomics is a relatively new branch of study that deals with analysing the structure and interactions of proteins in a given cell. Through the use of proteomic maps, researchers may be able to understand the genetic makeup of cells, thereby creating new means of developing drugs.

The Dept of Energy will provide $260 million for four years for research of batteries for electric automobiles. Technical goals of the program include increasing the range and decreasing the recharge time of batteries.
