Evaluation of a magnetic particle-based ELISA for the determination of chlorpyrifos-ethyl in natural waters and soil samples

Article Abstract:

A new magnetic particle-based enzyme-linked immunoabsorbent assay (ELISA) for chlorpyrifos-ethyl was investigated in estuarine water matrices. The ELISA was utilized as a first screening method for determining the presence of chlorpyrifos-ethyl in highly contaminated soil. The results showed that the ELISA was more effective and required less time than other methods which necessitate a cleanup step prior to analysis.

Pilot survey for determination of the antifouling agent Irgarol 1051 in enclosed seawater samples by a direct enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and solid-phase extraction followed by liquid chromatography-diode array detection

Article Abstract:

Direct enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) proved useful in detecting the antifouling agent Irgarol 1051 in enclosed seawaters from the Mediterrenean Spanish Coast. The analysis of seawater samples by ELISA and their preconcentration with solid-phase extraction system, liquid chromatography and diode array detection yielded detection limits of 0.020 and 0.001 microg/L.
