Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons identified in soot extracts from domestic coal-burning stoves of Henan Province, China

Article Abstract:

Henan Province in China has one of the highest rates of esophogeal cancer in the world. Analysis of soot deposits from coal-burning stoves in the area show 32 distinct PAC's, some of which have never been seen before as products of any coal burning system. Three strong and seven moderate mutagenic compounds were discovered. The article's conclusions are supported by multiple charts and graphs.

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHS) in indoor and outdoor air of Hangzhou, China

Article Abstract:

Authors measured polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in the outdoor and indoor air of eight Chinese homes. PAH concentrations inside were between 3.897 to 29.852 micrograms/meters cubed in the autumn and 1.418 to 20.466 micrograms/meters cubed in the summer, while outside they were between 2.721 and 30.678 micrograms/meters cubed in the autumn and between 1.380 and 20.468 micrograms/meters cubed in the summer. Tables and figures further describe results.
