Preventing blackouts

Article Abstract:

The article explains the use of self-healing smart power grids that are useful to shorten power cuts in the U.S. The first step towards this self-healing smart grid is to build a processor into each switch, circuit breaker, transformer and bus bar and then be fitted with a processor that communicates with other processors thereby monitoring sensors built into their systems.

Arrowbows, chips and chirps

Article Abstract:

The author describes the arrowbow that gives dynamic guitar sound and 'chipsaw', an amplified hotwire musical greeting card microchip with rich sounds. He uses chirps and rhythmic material mixing with alternate bows and microchip in his violin.
