Rapid remediation

Article Abstract:

Florida DOT (FDOT) used a ground-water recovery system with deep vertical wells and high-recovery-rate horizontal drains to remove petroleum-based contaminants from a land area. The area is a part of land due for construction of a highway expansion project. The remedial action helped remove 99% of benzene and 95% of total volatile organic aromatics in three months. This clean-up method saved time and money and helped in continuing the expansion project without any delay.
