Researchers offer new explanation of Tay bridge disaster

This article looks into the causes and failures for the collapse of the Firth of Ray bridge in Scotland. The iron columns, tie bars, and the joints of tower contribute to the bridge's stability. Damage to the tie bars is implicated.
